Here's a little secret -- MOST of the best art comes from experimentation! That means trying new things. Sometimes we make a mess, and sometimes we blow our own minds. But you don't know until you try!
In this workshop, we will explore a simple watercolor technique for creating etherial creations and ombre washes. You'll be able to explore what techniques YOU enjoy using to create something unique and special -- it's as much about the process as it is about the results.
We will be working on greeting cards (you can mail it to your mom for Mother's Day! Or if you really love it, you can just frame it and keep it for yourself). If you'd prefer to work in a different format, you are welcome to bring your own watercolor paper, or other favorite art supplies (fancy pens! Favorite brushes! Stamps! Whatever!) Watercolors + cards + brushes provided.
May 6, 2017, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Workshop will be held outdoor under shade in central San Diego. Location given to confirmed attendees.
When we clear our minds, we make space for brilliance to enter in.
Easier said than done, right?
Here is some good news, though -- meditation is a practice. Meditation is the practice of sitting down and making time with yourself. Most people who meditate don't just sit down and drop into one-ness bliss (and don't trust anyone who tells you that it's always like this for them). Meditation can be challenging, especially to start, and there are SO many ways to do it!
One of the ways that people have used globally for millennia is prayer beads. They exist in many cultures/faiths (Catholics, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists all have them!) In this workshop, we will be making our own tool and crafting an affirmation to use with them.
You will get to pick out stones that resonate with you, and will learn to tie knots between each bead (this is the same technique that you can use to make a mala in the future!)
